Update: Timing of the Books and 2015 Conferences

Well, first of all, we just got back from a two week journey around Patagonia, so here’s a picture of me and a penguin: It looks like my God is Not Always Green: When Religious Practice and Environmentalism Collide will not be published until Spring of 2016, rather than the fall of 2015 date I had hoped for.  The manuscript is done, but it needs some more work, and taking time with it will, in the long run, be worth it, I’m sure.  The novel, Tuttle in the Balance, is still slated for an official pub date of December 2015, but it may be available somewhat earlier, maybe November sometime.  In the next few weeks, we’ll be working not only on finalizing the text of the book, but also on the cover art. I’ve got a few good conference appearances scheduled so far for 2015.  I’m speaking on topics related to the God is Not Always Green book at two academic conferences in May.  On May 8-9, I’ll be talking at a conference on law, religion, and public health, put on by the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law School, and in late May I’ll be giving a paper at the annual Law and Society Conference in Seattle.   Later in the year, I’ll be reading and teaching a short workshop in “Humor Outside the Humor Piece,” at the always awesome Sanibel Island Writer’s...
